Building community is a key element of the Symposium. Friday and Saturday evening, we come together for food, drink, meetings and eventing presentations. Check back as we continue to add more presenters and dial in the final schedule.
Evening Presentation, "The 90-Miler: Top 10 Tips with Brian and Andrew" Join 90-Miler veterans Brian McDonnell and Andrew Jillings for a lighthearted evening talking about the 90 Miler. Our presenters will have their top 10 lists, which we're sure will include a few entertaining stories of past races. From there we will open it up to questions."
Evening Presentation, "Paddling Abroad: Eight Days on the Duoro River" Symposium Coach John Ozard will share his adventure paddling across Portugal, from Spain to the Atlantic Ocean, down the Douro River. Paddlers and foodies should attend.
Evening Presentation, "Wellness for Paddlers" Join DCATC and paddler, Celeste Gabai, in her presentation on wellness for paddlers. As we all age, taking care of our bodies so they take care of us is imperative. Although paddle sport is a low impact activity, there are still plenty of ways to damage ourselves. Spend some time with Celeste as she helps you better understand the risks and how to avoid them. Evening Presentation, "Tow-Line Artistry" We may have seen a tow-line, been attached to one as the victim or the rescuer. But, in a pinch are you certain you are using correctly, safely, efficiently? Join Symposium Coach Jeff Adler as he shares his best practices for tow-line artistry. (Note: This would be a great presentation for those taking "Open Water Adventure," "Recues 2.0," or ‘Towing 1.0.")
