The Adirondack Paddling Symposium was derived from paddlers like you.
The goal, simple: To build skills to further your paddling enjoyment. With so many amazing places to explore by paddle power, the more efficient you are, the more confident you become. This educational resource was created for our community, and our dream is to see you and others get the most out of your adventure. To go further and be bolder.
Philosophy: We want to focus on the beginner to intermediate paddler and, by choosing patient and caring instructors, create an environment of encouragement, that is judgement free and truly furthers the enjoyment you get from paddling. It’s this level of paddler that has the most to gain from instruction, to understand how the body and boat/ board work together to get the most from your craft, to get the most from yourself.
About the NFCT: The Northern Forest Canoe Trail is a nonprofit organization that maintains and promotes the 740-mile water trail that runs from Old Forge, NY, to Fort Kent, Maine, and connects New York, Vermont, Quebec, New Hampshire and Maine. The trail showcases the mix of landscapes and communities currently lining the traditional routes used by Indigenous peoples, settlers and guides. It is the longest inland water trail in the nation and consists of 23 rivers and streams, 59 lakes and ponds, 45 communities and 65 portages. To learn more, visit northernforestcanoetrail.org.
